A budget for any vacation/holiday is a personal topic. It’s scary to allow others to see how we chose to spend our money. We risk judgment and ridicule. However, the benefits of sharing go back to the theme of all my blogs which is to share all parts of our Camino experiences despite what others […]

The 21 Pound Turkey... How to Handle Dreaded Holiday Leftovers!

December 20th, 2020
All Blogs, Recipes

In the midst of the COVID virus pandemic, we purchased a 21-pound turkey for two and it’s a good thing we love turkey leftovers! Now don’t get me wrong, I can only eat Thanksgiving (or Christmas) dinner with all of the trimmings twice at most but take that holiday turkey and divide it into dinner-sized […]

RV Slideout Upgrade

November 19th, 2019
All Blogs, RV'ing

Making modifications to our CC (the name of our travel trailer is Casa del Camino or CC) can take away from the adventure, relaxation, and wine time of RV living, however, the payoff is huge. The more we have modified CC, personalized her, the more we love her. I remember wanting to sell, upgrade, and […]

One of the coolest things we did this past summer 2018 was to check out the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore by kayak. We were thankful this was scheduled for later in our trip because as of early and mid-July that year, the "sea caves" that we witnessed were still "ice caves." We were there on a perfect 72-degree day in early August. Want to see more about our trip and some fantastic photos? Click the "read more" button to check out this Wednesday's blog post.

Where We Have Traveled

By on January 20, 2019

It was 2008 when we took our first big vacation. The plan was to be gone for almost a month. It was an overwhelming thought because we had no clue what we were doing, we were traveling with one of our two kids, staying in hotels, and a month is a long time to be […]

Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island

By on July 24, 2018

Two places where we have never seen so many fudge stores! As a matter of fact, the residents of Mackinac Island are called “fudgies.” Yes, fudgies! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. We started with a day in Mackinaw City which is a small little town. In our opinion, the draw of this […]

Parking the RV (sometimes it isn't easy)

By on July 17, 2018

This space looks roomy enough, and seriously once you are in the site it is very roomy! But do you see those trees on the right side of the image? We almost had the small one permanently imprinted on the bumper of CC. If you don’t know, the name of our rig is Casa del […]
