This policy explains what information the Cruisin’ with the Colemans website collects, how it is used, and who else receives it. It describes how the site works today.
Who we are
Cruisin’ with the Colemans is run by Brian and Michelle Coleman. For any privacy question or request, email us at hello@cruisinwiththecolemans.com.
Information you give us
The site has forms for contacting us, joining our newsletter, and asking about trips, pilgrimage planning, speaking engagements and RV caravans. Depending on the form, we collect:
- your name and email address (every form)
- your message, and details about your plans, such as the route or trip you are interested in, rough dates, group size, your organization and event details, or the RV you travel in
- your answer to the marketing email checkbox
Every form on the site, including the contact and inquiry forms, currently includes a required checkbox that reads “I opt-in to receive freebies, tips, recipes, and marketing emails.” A form cannot be sent unless that box is ticked.
When you send a form, the website also records your IP address and browser details with your submission.
How we use it
- to reply to your message or inquiry
- to send you a copy of what you submitted (all forms except the newsletter form)
- to send newsletters and marketing email to people who have ticked the opt-in box
To stop receiving marketing email, email us at hello@cruisinwiththecolemans.com.
Where your information goes
- Form submissions are stored in the website’s database.
- Each submission is also emailed to us at hello@cruisinwiththecolemans.com.
- Our email system may keep a log of messages the site sends, including these notification emails.
- Our web developer maintains the site and has administrator access to it.
The site has no advertising tags and sets no advertising cookies. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics may also send limited measurement data to Google’s advertising services.
Trip booking and waitlist forms
The “Book Now” and “Join the Waitlist” buttons on our trip pages open Google Forms on Google’s website. Information you enter there goes to Google Forms, not to this website, and Google’s privacy policy applies to it.
Analytics and your choice
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, but only if you agree. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you press Accept, no analytics cookies are set. If you press Reject, or ignore the banner, they stay off. Until you accept, the Google Analytics code does not load at all and nothing is sent to Google Analytics.
If you accept, Google Analytics receives information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, your device and browser, and your IP address. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation in the site’s analytics settings, and your consent covers analytics only, not advertising. Google’s privacy policy applies to the data Google receives.
You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. You can also block cookies in your browser settings or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies
The site stores your cookie choice in a cookie called cwc_consent so the banner does not keep coming back. It records only “granted” or “denied” and is kept for 180 days.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google’s analytics code also sets:
- _ga: distinguishes visitors (Google Analytics), kept for about 13 months
- _ga_QBJ8LTNV4V: keeps track of your visit (Google Analytics), kept for about 13 months
If you later choose Reject, these analytics cookies are deleted. WordPress sets login cookies only for people who sign in to manage the site.
Embedded content and outside services
Some parts of the site load from other companies’ servers, and those companies receive your IP address and browser details when the page loads:
- Fonts from Google Fonts, on every page
- Icons from Font Awesome, on every page
- Animation code from jsDelivr, on every page
- YouTube videos. The video on our RV Caravanning page uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Videos in older blog posts use standard YouTube embeds, which may set YouTube cookies, especially when you play them.
Links to our YouTube channel and social media accounts take you to those sites, where their own privacy policies apply.
Security
A security plugin records the IP address of anyone who fails to log in to the site’s admin area, to block break-in attempts.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are not deleted automatically. They stay in the website’s database until we remove them.
Your choices
Email us at hello@cruisinwiththecolemans.com with any request about your personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
